About
Read 718 is a literacy non-profit that operates in Brooklyn, New York where we work to help bridge the literacy gap with struggling readers.
Our program works with 3rd-8th graders who are reading below grade level, and are also from low-income families. We pair them with volunteer tutors, and they meet twice a week to work on their phonemic awareness and comprehension skills! We are currently looking for volunteer tutors for our remote program!
Pairs will meet over Zoom twice a week, using lesson plans that are tailored to your specific student and their literacy needs. We operate on 10-20 week cycles, and it is about a 2-3 hour weekly commitment.
