AVANCE

About

AVANCE walks alongside children and caregivers in primarily Latino communities to achieve social and economic justice.

Opportunities

AVANCE-Austin offers various opportunities for community members to volunteer and support its mission of empowering low-income families through education and resources. Here are potential volunteer opportunities at AVANCE-Austin described in English:

1.  Classroom Support: Volunteers can assist in early childhood education classrooms by helping teachers with daily activities, engaging with children during play and learning, and ensuring a nurturing environment.
2.  Material Preparation: Volunteers can help create educational materials, such as assembling learning kits, preparing supplies for craft activities, and organizing resources for parents and children.
3. Parent Support Programs: Volunteers can assist in facilitating parenting programs by offering logistical support, helping with childcare, or sharing skills like language instruction or technology use.
4. Administrative Tasks: Volunteers with organizational skills can support office operations by assisting with data entry, filing, or other administrative tasks that help AVANCE function efficiently.
5. Specialized Skills: Volunteers with expertise in areas like graphic design, photography, bilingual translation, or IT support can contribute their skills to enhance AVANCE's programs and operations.

Each volunteer role provides a chance to make a meaningful impact on families and children in the AVANCE community. Interested individuals can contact AVANCE-Austin to discuss opportunities and align their interests and skills with the organization's needs.

We work with the Low-income Latino community. Our programs are only provided in Spanish
