I supported the American Diabetes Association in its efforts to help people better monitor their health status regarding their risk of diabetes. It was a thought-provoking experience that challenged you to be more aware of your medical history and conduct more appropriate checkups. I was able to receive data from 21 people.

I assisted incoming freshmen and their parents with moving dorm necessities and furniture.
I did morning check in for tardy students. I assisted with children in the disability program today. Using the IT assistants I learned how to help nonverbal students communicate using a word board. I also oversaw music class with kindergartners as they learn rhythm and repetition.
I was able to visit a neighborhood that’s right around the corner from me. It was refreshing to see kids interact and get some recreational time after a day of tutoring sessions. I played some of the kids in basketball, which is a great way to get to know them when you’re new. I hope to continue working with the kids in the future.
Really tested my creativity skills.
